We went to visit cats in Astoria Cat Rescue and there were so many of them! The center is actually just a house where they keep all the cats and no one lives there. Volunteers and ACR members just go there everyday to take care of the cats there.
If you’re looking to foster, there are a lot of cats available but most of them are feral or semi feral so they are scared of people and can be aggressive. But ACR is always in need of foster parents and volunteers!
The baby cats are kept downstairs and are absolutely adorable. They are definitely a lot more social and aren’t afraid of people, however they are only up for adoption and not fostering.
If you’re looking to be around cats more this year I’d suggest volunteering there since they are in need of more people to pop by and feed the cats and clean the place. Hopefully we can foster a pair from there soon!
Rating 7/10 a great cause but the house itself is unkept and can be dirty since there are so many cats 🐈 ...More
