If you’re thinking about being a foster parent then you should definitely do it through Advocat Rescue! They are a rescue based in Queens and they don’t have a central location - all their cats are placed in foster homes.
I signed up 3 weeks ago and they had me do a 1 hour call to go over all the details of how it works. They were very thorough and you can tell they take care of their cats with all things from medical needs to finding them the right fit. We were matched with adorable Big Mac - a 1 year old long hair tuxedo cat who is the sweetest baby ever 🥹 you essentially take care of a cat until they get adopted by someone and then Advocat would give you the next cat that is in need of a home.
If you’re considering becoming a cat foster parent to help get kitties off the streets or compromising situations, you should definitely do it through Advocat! But only if you can dedicate the time, a little money, and effort :)
