This is THE place to go to test out your skills and compete with or against your friends and family. I will never get bored of coming here because there are 11 rooms each with 500 different challenges to choose from and different levels to adjust to peopleβs capabilities and experience. At the end of your time slot, you return your bracelet and find out if you accumulated enough points to receive a gift, if not, next time you might. I also like that there are free lockers where you can store all your belongings, so they donβt get lost or stolen. Tip: if you go Monday-Thursday it will cost $25 and Friday-Sunday $30. ...More

Activate's real-life indoor game has been wildly popular for quite some time. Taking advantage of the nice weekend weather in Chicago, we went to check it out. It's a great collaborative challenge experience, perfect for friend gatherings and company team-building events.
π Advance online reservations are required. Each time slot can accommodate up to 12 people, with a 10-minute interval between slots. So there will be many people at the venue simultaneously. Monday to Thursday: $24.99, Friday to Sunday: $29.99.
π Arrive 15 minutes early, wearing comfortable clothes and shoes, as you'll be running and moving around.
π The store is located in a plaza with plenty of free parking spots.
π Everyone needs to fill out a waiver. Completing it online in advance will save time. You can also fill it out on-site. Upon arrival, you'll receive a wristband to track your individual score and a free locker to store personal belongings.
π The game lasts 75 minutes. Staff will provide a brief explanation of the rules. Remember, the countdown begins as soon as you enter the first room, and the display screen at the entrance will show you how much time is remaining. Waiting in line also counts towards the time.
π After the game ends, you return the wristband and receive a keychain with your personal information recorded. On your next visit, you can simply scan the code for a 10% discount.
The most fun rooms are Laser and Grid. The Laser room has the longest queue as there's only one, while there are three Grid rooms, providing more choices. A must-try!
Overall, it's a great experience, but there are a few downsides:
π The 75-minute gameplay includes waiting time, so it may feel a bit short if there are many people during your time slot....More
